Washing Sheepskin
Sheepskin can be laundered. BUT, you must take the extra time to make sure it is done carefully and properly.
- Place sheepskin in washing machine. We recommend using a FRONT END loader to prevent damage by the agitator.
- Use COLD water and GENTLE cycle settings ONLY.
- DO NOT USE LAUNDRY DETERGENT OR WOOLITE!
Both can ruin the skins.
- We recommend
Kookaburra Wash. This product is a pure plant based shampoo with conditioner specifically designed for sheepskin products.
DO NOT USE ANY HEAT AT ANY POINT IN THE CLEANING PROCESS! Heat will make the sheepskin shrink, causing irreparable damage.
Dry your sheepskin by hanging it or laying it fleece down out of direct sunlight. Make sure that the sheepskin has dried completely before using.
When the skin is dry, use a steel pet brush to bring back to original straight haired appearance. When brushing use short upward strokes and be careful not to pull the fleece hard.
